◆ Visa Requirements to Enter Japan

There are 61 countries that have concluded a visa waiver arrangement with Japan. Please check to make sure if your country is one of those that have concluded a visa waver arrangement with Japan.
If you are from the People's Republic of China, Russia, or one of the NIS countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, or Uzbekistan), or if you are from the Philippines, you will need to apply for a short-term stay visa to enter Japan. The details are shown on the web site.
If you need an invitation letter, please complete the following 3 documents (available on the above web-site) and send it to us (SSLL2019@minpaku.ac.jp) no later than October 31, 2019.
1) Invitation letter (fill in the form of “Visa Applicant”)
2) List of visa applicants
3) Itinerary in Japan
Please note that the invitation letter will not include commitments for transportation or accommodation expenses.

If taking a taxi:
From Senri-Chuo, ask the driver to take you to “the employees entrance of Minpaku (民博職員通用口)” (about 10 minutes, 2,000 yen)
From JR Ibaraki Station, “Nihon Teien Mae (Japanese Garden) parking lot (日本庭園前駐車場（ゲート前）)” (about 10 minutes, 1,600 yen)
