The National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku) is a research center for ethnology and cultural anthropology.

Agreement of Academic Cooperation between the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka, Japan and the National Direction for the Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture (Ministère de la Culture, Direction Nationale du Patrimoine Culturel), Mali

Protection of and research on cultural property in Mali is significant for cultural exchange between Mali and Japan. To strengthen and develop the exchange, the National Museum of Ethnology and the National Direction for the Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture, concluded an agreement to cooperate on protection, research, education and dissemination on cultural property in Mali on May 7, 2014.

Both institutions will collaborate to study archeological sites, implement field work, research, protection and dissemination related to cultural property in Mali by providing technical support and cooperating to publish archeological survey results.
