The National Museum of Ethnology and the University of British Columbia, Museum of Anthropology, Canada, reached an agreement on strengthening the relationship between the institutions and encourage cooperation in research on cultures, societies, globalization, and other topics of mutual interest. The statement was signed on March 9, 2017.

Both institutions will promote academic exchange and collaboration in joint research.
