One hundred years after the birth of cinema, image-making is changing dramatically with the emergence of new technology as it shifts from film screen, to television, to multi-media. This special exhibition explores our relationship to image-making. It celebrates the innovators who developed the early technology of the moving picture, showcases the technology they created, celebrates the image makers who used film as a tool for research and examines the relationship between the "observers" and the "observed." It may be valuable to journey through the exhibition twice, first as a viewer exploring the technology and the images and then to consider the perspective of those who have been the subject of the images. It provides an opportunity to see the evolution of cinema from two dramatically different perspectives.
