The National Museum of Ethnology (Minpaku) is a research center for ethnology and cultural anthropology.

Academic Agreement with the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the Federal State Institution of Culture, Russia

The National Museum of Ethnology, Japan, and the Russian Museum of Ethnography, Russia, concluded an academic cooperation agreement for cooperation and mutual assistance in anthropological museum related activities, including surveys on cultural anthropology and ethnology, museum operation, collection preservation.

Director-General SUDO and Director V. M. GRUSMAN attended the signing ceremony held at the Russian Museum of Ethnography on December 3, 2010.

To promote cooperation in research and museum operations, both institutions will collaboratively plan and implement cross-disciplinary projects on cultural anthropology, ethnology, museology, and historical and cultural properties protection, including anthropological survey in Russia and Central Asian countries, improvement of storage conditions of historical and cultural properties, as well as exchange of experts and new publications.
