In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and Korea, an exhibition focusing on “ Food Culture and Museums in Korea and Japan” is organized jointly with the National Folk Museum of Korea.

On the first floor, Korea’s “50-Year History of Food,” “World of Kimchi,” “World of Kitchen,” “Kitchen Utensils,” “Food Philosophy,” “Dietary Education & Information,” “Food and Ceremonies in Life /Annual Event Etiquette,”, and so forth, are displayed combatively with those in Japan. In addition, artistic exhibitions on the “Food Lives of Contemporary Young People” and “Onomatopoeia (Echoic and Imitative Words) Used in Food Comics” by the Kyoto University of Art and Design, and Korea National University of Arts, as well as an information engineering exhibition by the Osaka Institute of Technology allow  visitors to enjoy “Pounding-Mochi(Rice cake) Game” and “Takoyaki(Octopus Dumplings)-Making Game”and others.

On the second floor, there are Japanese and Korean sections for the “Study of Dietary Culture,” “Food Museum,” “Food Comics,” “ Eating Painted by Korean and Japanese Children,” and so forth.

In the basement exhibit area, visitors can buy and taste Korean and Japanese confectionery, tea and other foods, as well as experience a variety of tastes at workshops and in the restaurant.
