趣旨

[img]民博に過去3回にわたり外国人研究員として滞在されたロベルト・ガルフィアス教授（カリフォルニア大学アーヴァイン校）が、2014年度の小泉文夫音楽賞を受賞されたのを記念して、国際シンポジウムを開催します。ガルフィアス教授は、1960年代より映像メディアを音楽研究に取り入れ、現在では伝承が途絶えた音楽伝統を含め、数多くの貴重な記録を残しています。
今回のシンポジウムでは、フィリピンとアメリカ合衆国から研究者をお招きし、ガルフィアス教授が1966年にフィリピンで収集した映像記録の歴史的な意義と今後の活用の可能性について議論します。なお、シンポジウムは英語で行われます。
